"Great for Down-to-Earth Garden Inspiration"
I spent some time on Beth Chatto looking for garden design ideas and plant combinations, and it was genuinely helpful. The advice comes across as calm and practical, like it’s meant for people who actually want to get outside and try things rather than overthink every detail. I got the impression they really know what works in real gardens, not just picture-perfect ones. It gave me plenty of ideas to test out in my own garden without feeling too fussy or overwhelming

"Pretty good, but a little misleading"
The descriptions were mostly fine and matched what showed up, but a couple of the plants were smaller than I expected or just behaved differently in my garden than what was written. Not a total disaster or anything, just kind of annoying. They should make the details clearer so people aren’t left guessing like a dummy.

"Honestly, I was impressed"
I ordered a few plants on a bit of a whim, and when they arrived I was like, oh wow, these are actually really decent. They looked healthy, were packed properly, and weren’t tiny little sad plants like I’ve had from other places. The price felt fair for what turned up. Delivery wasn’t the cheapest, which made me hesitate for a second, but overall it still felt like good value. I’d definitely use bethchatto.co again...

I wasn’t totally convinced at first, but I asked the Beth Chatto team for advice on my damp, shady beds and it actually made a lot of sense. Tried a few of their suggestions and, to my surprise, the plants are looking better now. So, yeah, credit where it’s due.

"Postage felt a bit steep"
The item itself was fine, but I couldn’t help noticing the postage cost more than I expected. It’s one of those little details that sticks in your head, especially when you see the final total at checkout. I’d probably order again, but the delivery price definitely made me pause.

"Big, healthy plants"
I was really happy with how big and mature the plants were when they arrived. The leaves had a nice full look, and even the little new growth tips looked healthy, which I always notice right away. They didn’t feel like tiny starter plants at all.

I do like that Beth Chatto seems to care about wildlife and a more natural way of gardening. The plants I received were in good condition too, so no complaints there. I just could not find as much clear information as I hoped about things like packaging, sourcing, or what they are doing day to day for sustainability. It feels like a good company overall, but not quite as transparent as I would like. Three stars from me...

"Really Happy With My Plants"
I ordered a few plants and they showed up looking great, actually, better than I expected. No damage at all, and the soil was still nice and damp. The leaves looked fresh, and the roots seemed strong too. I’m really happy with how they arrived.

"Surprisingly painless to use"
I found bethchatto.co.uk really easy to navigate, which is always a nice shock in this day and age. The menus actually make sense, so I could find plant info, opening times, and the online shop without having to embark on some grand digital treasure hunt. Pages loaded fine, the checkout was straightforward, and the photos and descriptions were clear without the usual clutter shouting at you from every corner. Overall, a nice website and yes, I’d use it again...

My order from Beth Chatto turned up in great condition, which was such a relief. The packaging felt sturdy without being excessive, and the plants had stayed exactly where they should during delivery. I’ve had plenty of plant deliveries arrive with compost all over the box, so it was genuinely nice to open this one and find everything neat, tidy, and healthy

"Lovely Gardens, But I Lost Some Trust in the Accessibility"
I visited with my mum, who has trouble walking, and while the gardens themselves are really lovely, the accessibility just didn’t feel as good as I expected. Some of the paths were narrow and uneven, which made getting around with a wheelchair more stressful than it should have been. The signs weren’t always clear either, so we felt a bit unsure where to go at times. The cafe and toilets were fine, and the staff were friendly enough, but it made me lose a bit of trust that the place is properly set up for less mobile visitors. I just think the facilities need more thought. 3 stars from me...

"Nice enough stop, but average overall"
We stopped by the cafe after wandering around the gardens. The tea came out quickly and was perfectly fine, and the staff were friendly enough, when we asked about the cake they basically said something like, “That one’s been popular today,” so I gave it a try. It was okay, but a bit dry and didn’t really feel worth the price. My friend had a sandwich, which was fresh, just nothing particularly memorable. The place itself is pleasant and it’s a nice spot to sit for a bit, but food and drink-wise I’d call it average. I’d still go again if I was already there, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it...

I ordered from bethchatto.co and the plants turned out fine in the end, so I can’t really complain too much. At the same time, I was a bit annoyed with the customer service because I had a delivery question and it took a couple of days to hear back. They did eventually sort everything out, and they were helpful once they replied, but it definitely wasn’t quick. Part of me thinks it was no big deal, but another part of me expected better. Not a bad experience overall, just a bit frustrating.

"Good cake, slow service"
The cake was actually really nice, like soft and tasty, but wow the service felt slow today. I wasn’t in a huge rush or anything, but I did keep checking the time. Still, the cake kind of made up for it, just wish things moved a bit faster.
